CDFI Fund Releases Public Comments Submitted for the Community Investment Impact System Data Collection

August 31, 2010

Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) announced today that it has posted the comments submitted in response to its Request for Public Comment related to the Community Investment Impact System (CIIS) Data Collection.

The CDFI Fund requested comments from the general public to improve its primary data collection system as part of a larger mandate by Director Donna J. Gambrell to streamline business processes and improve customer service. Reflecting feedback from a wide range of industry stakeholders, the comments will be used to increase the efficiency of the CDFI Fund’s data collection practices and minimize the reporting burden on the public.

The CDFI Fund specifically invited comments and suggestions concerning the Awardee/Allocatee Annual Report, comprised of the Institution Level Report and the Transaction Level Report, via a Federal Register Request for Public Comment notice, published on May 7, 2010. Written comments were to be submitted by July 6, 2010.

The Institution Level Report and the Transaction Level Report represent reporting requirements for participants in the CDFI Program, the Native American CDFI Assistance Program, and the New Markets Tax Credit Program. The Annual Report forms and related documents such as the CDFI Program and NACA Program assistance agreements, and the NMTC Program allocation agreement, may be found on the CDFI Fund’s website at www.cdfifund.gov
