Effective immediately, all applicants applying for Federal assistance are required to have a Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number assigned to their organization. To obtain this number, applicants can call 1 (866) 705-5711. This is a dedicated toll free DUNS Number request line. Applicants should receive their DUNS number within 24 hours of the request.
Organizations can also apply for the DUNS number online at www.dnb.com. However, obtaining a DUNS number via the web could take approximately 30-60 days from date of request.
Please note that the CDFI Fund has incorporated the DUNS number as an eligibility requirement for all Federal assistance CDFI Programs. Please refer to the Federal Register Notice dated June 27, 2003, for additional information regarding this new requirement at:
