Announcements

    Overview

The Capacity Building Initiative will greatly expand technical assistance and training opportunities for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) nationwide and significantly boost the ability of CDFIs to deliver financial products and services to underserved communities.
Capacity Building Initiative Logo Industry-wide training targets key issues currently affecting CDFIs and the communities they serve, including affordable housing and business lending, portfolio management, risk assessment, foreclosure prevention, training in CDFI business processes, and assistance with liquidity and capitalization challenges. The Initiative also offers direct technical assistance and individualized capacity-building plans and focuses on extending CDFI coverage to underserved communities, especially in rural areas.
To carry out the Initiative's objectives, the CDFI Fund has engaged established community development firms to provide training and technical assistance. More information can be found in the individual overviews below.

    Capacity Building Initiative Resource Banks

As part of the Capacity Building Initiative, the CDFI Fund will be providing Resource Banks that contain training materials, expert documents, archived webinars, and links to relevant outside information. Resource Banks are available on a variety of topic areas, including past training series.

Resource Banks for current training series can also be accessed from each training series’ individual page below.
